DEZY MANUEL – PROFESSIONAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Welcome to my website! My name is Dezy Manuel, and I was born and raised in beautiful Victoria B.C. In 2021, upon graduating university, I moved to Edmonton to start my career. I graduated from the University of Victoria with Bachelor of Science, Major in Physics. My passion for science and technology led me into the IT field, where my current focus in software development and data science.

Ever since I was a young girl in the early 2000s, I have been excited by new technology and how it will help shape the future. I was lucky to be raised around technology and learn about it from an early age. Like many young people, some of my childhood milestones involved getting my first iPod, iPhone, computer, and internet connection. However, I saw these as more than sources of entertainment but as tools to help make our lives easier and help us realize our best potential as human beings.

Fast forward to the modern day, and our current technology is almost a perfect realization of what I imagined technology to be as a young child. It may seem very different on the outside, but the goal has always been the same. Just as it is my goal to use technology to solve problems, whether in my personal or professional life, for myself and others.

My passion for technology has evolved from the cutting-edge hardware I coveted as a kid to the software development and AI tools that drive our modern lives.

Software Development, to me, is a collaborative process completed by passionate individuals with a common goal of solving an important problem that will benefit the users they serve.

Data Science and AI allow us to make data-driven decisions and optimize processes better than many other tools, using principles from cutting-edge research and science.
